Help: Re: Letter to elders NOT to disfellowship otherwise legal action will be taken
by LouBelle inhello there everyone.
i remember reading a while back about someone on here ( i think) that wrote a letter to the body of elders & headoffice that they should not take any action to disfellowship them as they would be distancing them from friends and relatives and would proceed to take legal action if the body of elders went ahead.. if anyone has that link or can point me in the right direction i'd appreciate that..

Just wanted to drop you a very short email to say thanks to you and your production team for your piece on Nathan Phillips. I'm also an ex-Jehovah's Witness and was really grateful that there was some exposure on the reality of the Jehovah's Witness cult. Unfortunately Nathan's story is hugely common around the UK and the world. Hopefully your interview will help demonstrate to the public how dangerous and abusive the religion is and how it tears so many families apart (mine included). leaving wt - you are by no means ugly. Your hair is awful though, get a modern/trendy hair cut, maybe a bit shorter, textured with some wax or putty, grow some 'designer stubble' (most guys look awful clean shaven, stubble is men's 'makeup') and tone up at the gym and you'd be a really good looking chap

DA Letter Script - Minimum Requirements?
by alias inif i am to write and send the minimal of a da letter, stating that i do not consider myself a jw (baptized as a minor), what do i need to include in the letter to make it valid?
1. who should the letter be addressed to?
(do i need to send duplicates: one to local cong, one to headquarters?).

Apparently you need to sign it too, mine was sent back because I didn't sign it. Seems silly though as any other contract (utility bills etc.) you don't need go sign to end. As far as I was concerned it was a valid letter, but they might send yours back also if not signed.

So has the wt given up on prophecy altogether or what?
by agonus infor decades they've produced massive tomes on their own peculiar brand of wt-centric prophecy, but it seems like the production of prophecy-related material as of late has slowed to a trickle, their last prophecy-related book that i can recall was the minor-prophets book released a few years back.
however that book if i recall was very vague in its exposition, focusing on daily life application rather than eschatology.
and yet the armageddon-end-times-obedience-"generation" drumbeat grows faster and louder with less and less exposition as to how or when exactly any of this is supposed to play out.

WT articles that make you go, "WTF?"
by undercover inmarch 1, 2011 wt kool aid edition.... the article: does the bible condemn gambling.
notice the highlighted boxes.... first the indication that the catholic church does not consider gambling itself a sin... and then challenges that because no scriptural passages are given in proof of their assertion.. the very next column though, the wts admits that the bible does not directly mention gambling.
so, um, how do you expect the catholics to come up with scriptures if there are none?.

It's pretty simple, his sense of humour is british - not american. Our senses of humour are not the same, as a stereotype british is sarcastic and dry - americans like fart noises and people who yell and fall over.
